Questionwhat do I do care for the plant when it is done blooming and the flowers have dropped. This is my favorite orchid but I know very little about the care. Any help will be much apppreciated.
Thank you
AnswerGaby, it needs very little care just after flowering. You can water lightly until you see new growth. Then, I recommend that you report it in fresh orchid potting mix in a pot that is well drained. As it begins its new growth in late winter or early spring you can increase the light level and begin to feed it with a balanced plant food. You can cut off the brown flower spikes as the plant will not rebloom on those. When outside temperatures remain above freezing, you can move it outside and gradually expose it to more light.
