Hi I have just received 24 beautiful Orchids from abroad. Each stem is in a solution in a small phial. Do I keep them in this or remove them and put in water. There is no instrutions on how best to keep them.

Vivienne, I assume that what you received were flower stems (sometimes called "spikes")and not orchid plants. If this is the case, I would leave them in the solution as it contains certain preservatives to extend flower life. You will not be able to propagate orchid plants from these so once the flowers fold they will need to be discarded.
