Questioncan this be sprayed on leafs of cats and other orchids My supplier included no instructions on use other than 2 tsps per gallon
AnswerPaula, the American Orchid Society's Handbook on Orchid Pests and Diseases indicates that Banrot is effewctive against a wide range of plant fungi but ineffective against bacteria. It recommends Banrot (which is a wettable powder) be used as a drench in the concentration of 1 tablespoon (ie 3 tsp) per gallon of water. Be sure to use chemical glooves when using it. Remove any infected parts (eg roots, leaves, etc) before use. Best to unpot the plant, place it in a drench and repot in fresh orchid potting mix. Some growers I know do not recommend use as a preventative. It can be used on cattleyas and most orchids.
