QuestionAfter the flowers on my phalaenopsis orchid fell off, I cut back the stem a few inches. It is now growing long roots and large leaves in two sections of the stem. Can these be cut off and replanted? How do I get the main plant to bloom again? Thank you.
AnswerJamie, you may remove the keikis with a small twist where they join the flower spike. These may be potted up in a separate pot. The mother plant will either send a branch flower spike at a node on the existing flower spike or it may do its annual rebloom from the base of the plant where a new flower spike can originate.
