Question
I bought this orchid as a gift, (I don't have any orchids myself) the day after I brought it home the flowers are all wilting. I checked the soil and it was dry so I watered it however, two days later the flowers are still wilted. I have it indoors near a south facing window. I need help, the birthday is tomorrow. Thanks

Oops, I guess I'm a little late since the birthday party already passed.  

At any rate, here goes.  When you brought the phalaenopsis orchid home, were there any fruits close by?  Ripening fruits put out etheylene gas as they ripen and it can be fatal to orchid flowers.  Also, freshly painted walls due to the fumes from the paint, sudden temperature changes of 15F, growing area temperatures below 50F or above 85F.
