QuestionI have a phaleonopsis that I've had about two years. It's quite large, probably two plants. It blooms and blooms and blooms. Lower leaves are shriveling. I think it needs to be repotted, but should I do it when it's blooming?
AnswerAnn, it is likely that this plant needs to be repotted. I would not let a plant be in continuous flower more than 6 months so use that as a rule of thumb. Preferably repot when it is donw flowering. If it is still in flower after 6 motns, cut off the flower spikes, remove the plant from its pot and examine the roots for any root rot. Then repot in a fresh orchid potting mix and replace in the same location it likes so well.
