QuestionI live in Jordan my cybidium flowers fell off whould i cat the stems now or wait.
My phalenopsis leaves are very soft and down they are not hard and standing what could that be though the flowers are good.
AnswerSince cymbidiums will not reflower on old flower spikes, when flowering has finished, you may cut off the old flower spikes. When the phalaenopsis has finished flowering you will need to repot it in an orchid potting mix-- probably found in a garden center. As part of that repotting process, you will need to examine the roots when you unpotted the plant. Remove any mushy or unhealthy roots (good roots are firm) before you repot. I suspect you have root rot which accounts for the soft leaves. This means the potting mix has broken down and needs to be replaced. Don't be alarmed if one or more leaves fall off because there may not be healthy roots to support those leaves. You will need to concentrate on growing healthy new roots and leaves once repotted.
