i got a new orchid 3 days ago and i put in on my fire place but i do not put it on and watered it like it said now 2 of the unopened flowers have gone wrinkled and 1 has fell off wot am i doing wrong

Hello Laura,

You didn't mention what kind of orchid it is you bought but I believe it may be a phalaenopsis orchid so I will respond as though that is what it is.  Okay?  

Unopened buds dying after only 3 days is a bit unusual, phalaenopsis buds usually open and remain alive for several months.  Here are some things you might look around for that can cause premature bud death.  

Fruits near by, freshly painted walls, temperature below 55F, sudden cold or hot drafts, gas leak from a gas fireplace (valve not fully closed), burning wood in the fireplace.
