Phalaenopsis: wilting flowers

Question
I purchased my first orchid, a Phalaenopsis in November of 2007.  It was already potted and in bloom when I brought it home.  The pot that it is in does not have a drainage hole, so I have been just misting it every morning and it has done wonderfully.  I did plan on re-potting once my blooms were gone.  My plant has produced many more blooms and some new leave sprouts recently.  I currently have quite a few blossoms and 4 buds - my concern is that three of my mid-aged blooms are closing up, while some of my oldest blooms are just fine.  the wilting blooms are located mid stem - I am wondering if I should take them off, and what the cause of this could be.

Answer
Megan, it is difficult to give you a specific reason for the mid-stem wilt. It could be normal flower senesence with those at the bottom of the flower spike soon to follow.  Otherwise, it would seem that that part of the flower spike has been exposed to some agent to which the flowers were sensitive.  The wilting flowers can either be removed or you can wait for them to dry and drop.
