QuestionI received a Phalaenopsis Orchid a couple of weeks ago and i make i water it and put on the same like the instructions but i have a concern... now it has the last blossom (flower)but how long does it take to grow more?
AnswerLissette, Phalaenopsis orchids rebloom annually so don't expect it to rebloom until next year at this time or earlier. What you should do now that it has completed its bloom cycle is to locate some fresh orchid potting mix. After doing so, unpot your plant, wash the roots thoroughly and remove any roots that are "mushy" or appear unhealthy (healthy roots are firm and turn green upon soaking them in water). Then find an appropriate size plastic pot and place the plant in it so the base of the plant is about an inch (ie 2-3 CM) below the top of the pot and fill the pot with the fresh potting mix to the base of the plant. It would be helpful to soak the fresh potting mix in water for an hour or two before using it.
