Care after repotting

Question
1.  I have recently repotted two phals into bark. Two orchid books say to "place recently repotted plants in a warm spot out of direct sunlight." But I am thinking that putting them back where they were growing is a better place - do you agree?

2.  After repotting, should the plants be watered as before or should they be kept a bit drier until I see roots?

3.  What about placing a plastic bag (with small openings) over the plant to help with the humidity?

Thank you.

Answer
I would go with your first instinct.  Never argue with success.  Since Phals, unlike many orchids, are constantly in growth, you can treat the repotted plants just as you did prior to potting-- in terms of placement, watering, etc..  I prefer to use a humidity tray for plants rather than plastic bags.  As you increase the humidity , I would increase the air circulation a bit.  I hope that you checked the roots before repotting.  Repotting is the best time for a root system check so any "mushy" or collapsed roots should have been removed.
