Question
My orchid has two shoots, one with a bloom on it. Now there is a leaf sprouting out from next to the bloom, it looks like a new plant. I do not know much about orchids but do love them. Is this a new plant and can I transplant it or do I leave it alone. It is in a pot on my screen porch.

This is a new plant and, once it has root growth, you can separate it from the flower spike it is on.  It will grow where it is indefinitely. The larger it is, the better the chance for survival, but to avoid damaging its roots, you should remove it and pot it in orchid potting mix before the roots get too long.  It is a clone of the mother plant so, if it survives and flowers, the flowers will be identical.
