Yellow Lumps on Stem

Question
I've had a single phalaenopsis orchid now for about 4 months and its always had really healthy flowers and leaves but recently i took it out of it's pot in to a square ceramic pot and put it nearer to a window that doesn't usually have the sun directly on it. Since then my orchid's flowers have began to dry up and all over the stems are some rather large yellowy/orange lumps. Do you know why this may be? Is it something serious or something curable? Thankyou for your time

Answer
Hello Grace,

The flowers wilting might be normal as phalaenopsis flowers normally last from 8 to 12 weeks.  As for the yellow/orange lumps on the stems, I'm not quite sure what it is at this time.  My suggestion would be to remove the stems by cutting them off as low as you can to prevent what ever it is from infecting the rest of the plant.  Be careful when handling the stems as you do not want to break open the lumps, having what ever may be inside to fall down onto the phal and possibly infecting it.

Hope this helped.  If you see lumps forming on the leaves, write back and I'll do some exploration regarding some other possibilities.
