AnswerThe wilting of your flowers is likely normal as a phalaenopsis individual flower will last for 2-4 weeks. I recommend repotting your orchid after each blooming season. You will need to locate a bag of orchid potting mix. Most garden centers carry this. Soak the potting mix for a couple of hours and then let the mix drain off any excess water. Then unpot the plant and wash all of the old mix from the roots and examine the roots. Cut off any roots that are "mushy" as they are dead and provide no nourishment to the plant. You want to leave only solid, healty roots on your plant prior to repotting. The actual repotting is pretty simple. Get a plastic pot that will comfortably accommodate the root mass. Insert the plant and all roots into the pot and pour in the new potting mix. Keep all leaves above the mix and all roots in the mix. The base of the plant should be even with the top of the potting mix when you are done repotting.
