QuestionMy orchid's flowers reciently fell off and the stalk dyed,
most of the roots are fine and I haven't lost a root.
Do you think it has any hope left?
AnswerOrchid flower spikes naturally and normally die back. As long as you have healthy roots and leaves, the plant should set forth new growth for a future reblooming. I would repot it at this time in any orchid potting mix that you can purchase at a garden center. Before repotting, remove any roots that are "mushy" as they will not contribute to the health of the plant. Good roots are firm and will be the basis for future new growth.
