QuestionI have several vanda's. I water every morning and keep them (since it's winter) under a floresent cool and warm lamp 11hrs a day with a fan. I have not fertilized since comming inside 1 month ago. The leaves on one of them just started wrinkling all over. the roots seem to be good and green when watered. Is this from under fertilizing or another problem
AnswerHumidity is down in the winter so I would shut off the fan as this tends to dry the plants unduly. Increase both the amount of light (4-40 watt florescent bulbs) and increaase the duration to 13 hours. No need to fertilize in the winter as the plants are growing very little. Also, try to keep the temperature to at least 70 degrees (warmer is better).
