Jim, I understand that your expertise is with cymbidiums.  Do you have any suggestions as to where I can buy Chinese cymbidiums?  I've done some research and have not come up with much, one or two.  I'm hoping you can offer more info.

Hi again Skylar,

If my memory is correct, you live in So. Cal.  One of the better sources of Chinese cymbidiums is Maisie Orchids located at 348 N. Toland Ave., West Covina, tel. no. 818-332-4599.  It is best to call ahead to make an appointment.  

While Maisie Orchids is the best source, other nurseries in So. Cal. may have Chinese cyms from time to time, especially as Chinese New Years approaches.  Another source would be going to some of the orchid shows as some vendors will have Chinese cyms available.  

Also, understand that in most cases, Chinese cymbidiums may cost more than other cyms.  Chinese cyms are highly prized by cym growers, especially those with variegated leaves.
