QuestionHi Wayne I hope that you can help me. I have a beautiful dendrobium species, well at least I think its a species. It kind of looks like a Dendrobium Helix although much bigger, with smoother petals and less curly lateral sepals which stand straight up.
The exterior is a mustard yellow color with a warm magenta lip. Can you please tell me exactly what type of dendrobium the following description refers to? Thank you.
AnswerFrom your description, the dendrobium is, what is referred to, as an "antelope" type. It is rare to have a species so I would speculate that you have one of many hybrids available ranging in color from maroon to green to yellow. So many of these hybrids look alike that I cannot give you the name of the hybrid. It is unfortunate that there is no name tag in the pot.
