QuestionI understand that I have an Orchid. My sister gave me a cutting not knowing what it was and now it has green leaves and about 5 stems growing outward. It seems to be very healthy, so what should I do?
AnswerFirst, we need to establish that it is an orchid. You might take it to a garden center and see if they know what it is. Second, there are many types of orchids even if that is what you have. Orchid plants may be divided but are not propogated by "cuttings" as are other types of plants. The person who can tell you whether or not it is an orchid may also know what general type of orchid you have. It is rare to have five new growths on an orchid plant-- although not impossible.
If some knowledgeable person can confirm that this is an orchid and the type of orchid I may be able to help you with growing conditions.
