QuestionI was told that the fuel filter in my carburator needed to be changed?! Where would I find such creature? I have already looked on the diapham side and the screen side but I could not find the fuel filter. PLEASE! HELP... I own A kawasaki 900zki
AnswerHello Don,
I am not an expert volunteer on motorcycles. Sorry.
I checked the Kawasaki Z1 shop manual and it doesn't show a fuel filter present on any of the carburetors or the fuel line. If there is a fuel filter installed on yours, it must be an aftermarket filter some one installed, possibly due to contaminants in the fuel tank?
I also own a Kawasaki 900 Z1 that I bought in late December 1972, it isn't in running condition as it has been parked in my garage for nearly 25 years! I didn't intend to leave it parked for that length of time, but the years just seemed to go by without my ever riding it again. It was running before I put it away but after that length of time it needs some major work - something I've been promising to do for 5+ years. After getting your question, I am thinking of working on it.
Sorry I can't be of more assistance.
Jim
