QuestionWhen is the best time to transplant lilley of the valley?1qa8w
AnswerHi John,
Thanx for your question. Lily-of-the-valley starts going dormant right after it blooms here in the Kansas City area. The leaves will remain green for a while and then start to wither and disappear. You can transplant lily-of-the-valley almost any time. The best time is said to be in the fall but if you don't want to wait that long, you may do so now. Make sure you transplant during the morning or eveing and not during the hot part of day which tends to traumatize a lot of plants. Transplant to a shady, semi-shady place and water profusely. Make sure plants get at least an inch of water for the next few weeks until their roots have had a chance to acclimatize themselves to their new surroundings. I hope this helps.
