QuestionHi Tom,
I am thinking about planting knockout roses, and forsythia bushes next to my house. The problem I may have is; I have a sewer pipe (pvc) and an underground flexible plastic pipe running about 2 feet beneath where I'll be doing the planting. I do not want any roots interfering with these 2 pipes. Do you forsee any problems? I live in central Kentucky.
Thank You very much,
Earl
AnswerHi Earl,
Thanx for your question. While the knockout rose doesn't seem to have a deep root system, forsythia does and I would caution against planting it over a plastic pipe as you described. I hope this helps. Your local horticulture agent at your county extension office can give you some pointers for what to plant in your area. If you give me your county, I can give you a contact point. I hope this helps.
