QuestionI have a couple of questions . . . it seems you used to be able to ask questions on the monrovia website.
i have two hydrangeas from monrovia . . .
oakleaf hydrangea and limelight hardy hydrangea
...
my oakleaf is about 8 years old . . . it's not blooming like it did (the first couple of years i had it i trimmed it back every spring just to make it nice and clean) the racemes (i think that's what they're called) are shorter these day and not as enthusiastic.
i'm thinking of cutting it down to the ground and letting it start over . . . what do you think?
also, i've never fed it anything . . . what should i feed it.
and i suppose whatever i feed it will suffice for the limelight as well?
AnswerHi Carl,
Thanx for your question. I think you have me confused with someone else. I have never worked for Monrovia but take a look at the info below.
Here's a website that gives excellent information on hydrangeas, pruning, etc. As for feeding, I recommend sidedressing your shrubs with well-composted manure available at DIYs, hardware stores or if you have a neighbor who has horses or cows and has a compost pile 6 months or older.

Use the same information for 'Limelight' too.
I hope this helps.
