QUESTION: Yes, Trisodium phosphate. Sorry I didn't spell it out.
AnswerHi Joseph,
Trisodium phosphate runoff is not good for the environment. It can cause algae blooms in waterways. It is also heavily alkaline and can drastically change the pH of soil and water. I am not a chemist or scientist so all I can go by is what I have read. Because of it's high alkalinity, TSP could harm acid-loving plants by drastically changing the pH of the soil. The phosphates cause algae-bloom in lakes and streams. Some people have reported that it does damage to small shrubs and plants next to houses or cars that have been washed with cleaners that contain TSP. Joseph, your local county extension agent can probably give you more information.
This link does not mention TSP dangers. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trisodium_phosphate
This link speaks mostly to the dangers to the aquatic environment. http://datasheets.scbt.com/sc-251041.pdf
I hope this helps.
