QuestionI googled killing the roots of a bird of paradise and it says to use several doses of round up to kill the roots. I will be replanting in the same area. Will this affect my new plants? Do you have any other solutions to kill the bird of paradise roots that are natural
AnswerHello Teri,
One of the virtues of round up is that it only works on the plants it touches. The other virtue is that is is very short acting, and decomposes quickly. You could pour a gallon of it on your bird of Paradise and safely plant another one the next day.
So plant away!

P.S. I should also add that roundup is the choice of many organic gardeners and conservation communities. So don't worry about it not being quite natural.
