QuestionLast year we had 2 lovely peaches in its first year, this year nothing, we decided to take it fro the ground as it was doing nothing and put it in a large pot it is now losing its leaves and leaves are pointing downwards my local garden centre thinks it will be OK it was repotted with John Innes 3
AnswerHi Marcella,
Thanx for your question. I agree with your garden center. The plant is suffering from transplant shock. It will probably not perform well until well into next year's growing season. Continue to ensure it gets watered once a week and feed it with fertilizer recommended for fruit trees. Your garden center should be able to recommend fertilizer spikes or some ther form of fruit tree fertilizer. If not, use well composted cow or horse manure in the pot. Well-composted manure should not smell bad. I hope this helps.
