Question
If you DO live in an area where glad corms are unlikely to freeze, what can you expect from them in terms of bloom profusion and quality if you do leave them in the ground?

Answer
Hi Bill,
Thanx for your question.  The corms will get larger the longer they are left in the ground.  This produces a much sturdier and colorful flower.  Eventually though, a bunch of cormlets will form around the mother bulb which will disappear as the cormlets mature into corms.  At first, there will be a nice profusion of blooming but like other plants, the corms will begin to crowd each other and blooming and vigor will be reduced.  So, the corms need to be dug up and thinned out every 3 years or so.  But, flowering is definitely stronger and more profuse from bulbs allowed to mature in the soil rather than being lifted and stored every year.  I hope this helps.
Tom
