QuestionHi,
I should havee done some research about Preen. I used Preen Weed Preventer surrounding my Star Jasmine plants, and now they won't sprawl.
What I can do now to make my Star Jasmines sprawl and grow?
Would I have to replace the soil?
Thank you for any suggestions.
AnswerHi Ariston,
Thanx for your question. Preen does not affect perennial plants or plants that are already growing. All Preen does is prevent seeds from germinating. It is known as a pre-emergent meaning it stops the germination of seeds. It will not harm existing plants and vegetables. At least, that's what the company says. We have used Preen in the past and not seen it harm existing plants or existing weeds for that matter.
Side dress the plant with well-composted manure every spring. It has average water needs and does best in full sun. You won't need to replace the soil. I hope this helps.
