what to plant in a west/south facing wet area

Question
i live in dallas and i would like to plant some flowering plants in an area where it gets late afternoon sun and stays moist/wet most of the time.(i never saw that area completely dry even in the middle of summer and it also gets additional water from the out door faucet when watering other plants which is located on the same wall)
any suggestions are appreciated.

Answer
Hi Rema,
Thanx for your question.  I would plant cannas, calla lilies (the large white ones are the hardiest), hardy hibiscus do well in moist/wet soil, rain lilies, crinum, gingers will do well but  you may have to dig them up in the winter but some are hardy to zone 8.  Agapanthus is lovely in purples and whites, butterfly weed, monarda, foxglove, black-eyed Susan, Confederate Rose Hibiscus.  I've included a link to the Dallas Mastergardeners.  I was a mastergardener here in Kansas City and these folks can provide you with accurate, local information.  I hope this helps.
Tom
