QuestionShould the lilac flowers be trimmed off the bush after blooming?
Is there anything that should be done for the Iris plants after blooming?
Thank you for your answer.
AnswerHi Betty,
Thanx for your question. You can deadhead the lilac flowers to make your shrub look neater if you like but it is not necessary. With iris, cut off the scape or stem at about 4 inches above the ground. Allow the leaves to grow and collect sunlight until fall. In the fall, you can cut the leaves in wedges if you like, I never really do anything to mine and they're fine. I hope this helps.
