QuestionWhen the flowers begin to wilt, do you prune or cut the spent flower off. Will this in turn allow more flowers to bloom, or is it just better to let them wilt and fall off on their own??
Thanks, Sonya
AnswerHi Sonya,
Thanx for your question. If you allow the lily to form a seed pod, it takes more energy from the plant. Unless you want seeds, cut the flower off, once it has wilted. The plant will not bloom again, either way. Allow the green growth the remain growing (the stalk and leaves) as they are gathering energy from the sun and storing it as sugars and starches in the bulb for next year's bloom and growth. I hope this helps.
