thanx for your question. Sorry for getting back to you late. I forgot to put myself in vacation-mode. Many perennials will not be harmed by a mild frost this late in the year. Some perennials that are getting ready to bloom would be safer under an old bed sheet or light blanket if a frost, particularly a hard-frost, is being anticipated. I hope this helps.
