QuestionHow can I get my yucca to flower? My zone is Western NY, it is well established and about five years old, and gets about four hours of straight sun, the rest is diffused. Any tips? I hear I am NOT to fertilize. Is this correct? If I need to fertilize, then how, when and what? Thank you!
AnswerHi Rebecca,
Thanx for your question. Four hours is not enough sunlight for a yucca. Yuccas require full sun for at least 8 hours for maximum blooming. Fertilizer won't help. Fertilizer will just make more green growth. Water won't help either. These are xeric plants and they don't mind drought. I hope this helps.
