QuestionQUESTION: Hello Tom,
I bought a bush 3 years ago but sadly 'lost' it this winter.I would like to buy another but can't remember the name and hoped you may help. I have returned to the garden center which sold it to me but to no avail.
The bush is evergreen with needle leaves. It has red flowers in summer which resemble raspberries and fully grown measures 6 feet high and 6 feet wide.
Thank you
Diana
ANSWER: Hi Diana,
Thanx for your question. It sounds like an English Yew (Taxus baccata)

QUESTION: Hello Tom,
Thank you for answering but the English Yew isn't the shrub I had. In the picture the leaves were flatened and the berries were round. My shrub had needle type leaves as would be seen on a fir and flowers which resemble small rasperies in shape and colour.
Thank you
AnswerHi Diana,
I'm sorry, but you have me stumped on this one. I refer you to Gil Borchardt here on Allexperts. He is from the UK which also may be helpful. Go to Home/Gardening, click on Landscaping, click on Shrubs and you'll find Gil. I hope this helps.
