QuestionI have a couple yucca plant I would like to move. When is the best time to move them and is there anything special I should do?
AnswerHi Janice,
Thanx for your question. Generally, spring is the best time to move perennial plants. Bear in mind that yuccas can have massive roots. Dig down deeply and all around the perimeter of the plant. If you have a large plant, you will need help getting it out. Make sure the new hole is slightly bigger and deeper than the old hole. Put some well composted manure in the hole and after planting the yucca, sidedress with the manure and then give it a good soaking. Make sure the plant is in full sun for 6-8 hours of the day. I hope this helps.
