QuestionHow do I split a Sweet Autumn Clematis. I live in Minnesota
Thanks
AnswerHi Robert,
Thanx for your question. To separate Sweet Autumn Clematis, but the vine back to about 6 inches above the ground. Dig up the rootball and divide it in half. If each division has at least a handful or more of roots, you can divide each division again. The idea is that each division will have a sufficient root system that the plant will survive in its new home. Sweet Autumn clematis are very hardy and will grow from small root clusters. I hope this helps.
