QuestionHI! I have a Sweet autumn clematis that is about 7 years old. Each fall I cut it down to the ground. It comes back in the spring with a vengeance! I would like to transplant it. Any suggestion? I don't want to kill it. It would be even better to split it up. Can I do this? Thanks!

AnswerHi Melanie,
Thanx for your question. If you're in the U.S., now is a good time to dig the plant up and transplant. You can divide the root ball by cutting into sections that have plenty of roots to sustain the separated cutting. Just use a very sharp knife. A small handful of roots should be enough. I hope thiis helps.
