Evergreen hydrangeas?

Question
Hi, is there such a thing as a hydrangea that looks like a full plant year round (ie no pruning back in the winter)?  We have a spot that is right in front of a picture window where i would love to plant a annabelle or something like it but i don't want a big bare spot in the winter.  We are in Northern California and the exposure is morning sun only.  Thanks!

Answer
Hello Darcy

The only evergreen Hydrangea I've been able to find is a climbing variety called Hydrangea Seemanii.  It's a lacecap (flat topped) variety), with scented white flowers in Summer - but - it grows to about 10 meters!  That's very tall and I don't think it would suit to spot you have for it.

I'm sorry I can't be of more help on the Hydrangea front, but there are a lot of other evergreen shrubs out there - perhaps you'd consider one of those?
