QuestionSome of my three year old hydrangea tree's leaves are turning yellow and falling to the ground. I have never noticed this in the past and am worried. It is blooming as we speak. What is causing this problem and is there anything I can do about it?
AnswerHi Lyn
Thank you for your question.
There are any number of reasons for leaves to turn yellow! Hydrangeas though are generally trouble free plants. The only things they don't like are too much sun and not enough moisture at the roots.
Unless there are a very large number of leaves falling, I wouldn't worry too much - especially as the plant is flowering well. Keep an eye on it and perhaps give it watering with a liquid general feed just to perk it up.
