QUESTION: Can these be easily transplanted? They are 1 year old and 4 feet high and wide. Northwest NJ.

ANSWER: Hi Louis,
Thanx for your question.  Ornamental grasses are easily transplanted.  The best time to do it is in late August or early September.  I would cut them back to about 6 inches above the ground and then dig them up and replant in the desired locations.  I hope this helps.

Thanx for your question.  Yes, you can transplant ornamental grass now.  Just make sure you soak it with water after planting, side dress with composted manure.  It's just more stress on a plant when transplanted in the heat of summer.  Most plants will survive the transition quite nicely.  I hope this helps.
