QuestionEnjoy your site... I put in a small concrete pedestal birdbath surrounded by a rock garden. I thought of putting in the birdbath some sort of ivy or sweetpotatoe looking plant that would grow in water. It sits in full sun ,hot here in south louisiana.thought it would look good draping down to the ground. any thoughts????? thanks johnny
AnswerHi Johnny,
Thanx for your question. You could put some parrot's feather or some other aquatic plant that would drape down. You'll have to make sure your birdbath doesn't dry up. You could put a sweet potato plant in the middle of the birdbath. Just elevate the pot so the roots don't remain soaked in water. Ivy doesn't like wet roots either. Look for some kind of aquatic plant.
Here are some images of parrot's feather.

I hope this helps.
