QuestionI have planted 6 of them in the front yard, and now my family members are telling me that they are not perennial plants and should be dug up and kept indoors in the winter months here in Southern Indiana. What is the correct answer. Will they survive in the ground or not?
Thanks for the help.
AnswerHi Dennis,
Thanx for your question. Calla lilies are perennial but they are not hardy in Southern Indiana. You will need to dig up the rhizomes in the fall after the first frost kills back the foliage, brush off excess dirt and store them in a cool, dry, dark basement until spring temperatures have warmed the ground up to 65F. I hope this helps.
