I think perennials were poisened!

Question
My significant other while trying to be helpful while I was out of town put Scots weed and feed down on the lawn and on my very large (56'x23')flower bed.  Now my peony's hollyhocks, delphiniums, and phlox (all of which are over 3 years) are wilting and the stalks are bending over.  Do I give up or is there anything I can do to try to save my garden other than dig it all up and start over.  Please help before I start taking the cost of this out of his backside....kidding....maybe......

Answer
Hi Diana,
Thanx for your question.  Sometimes it takes more than one application of weed and feed to completely do in established plants.  Let's hope for the best and the first thing I would do is thoroughly soak the flower bed with water for three days and leech some of that poison out of the soil.  Peonies, hollyhocks, they're pretty tough.  I think they'll make it if it was just one application.  The delphiniums and phlox are probably another story.  All you can do now is wait and see...and hope.
I'm sorry I couldn't give you a better answer.
Tom
