QuestionQUESTION: Years ago my mother was given some flower seeds, she was told they were called Texas Dandelions. She planted them and the came up and bloomed in the evening. The plant looked like a Dandelion only the leaves were skinner in size. The flower was a pale Yellow about 2 to 2 1/2 inches across.Very faint fragrance if any at all. They would produce seed pods and they would also spread out and form new plants. I have been looking for them for a very long time and am having NO luck finding them. Could you Please see if they are known by any other name and let me know? I really miss watching them Bloom. Thank You Denise

This is the plant most commonly called Texas dandelion. It is not particularly a night bloomer but usually blooms in the morning.

Let me know if this is it because this grows in Kansas too and is considered a weed. It is taller than a dandelion and the flower is pale yellow. I hope this helps.

Let me know if these look like your plant. I've pretty much gone through just about everything I can find on the Texas Dandelion. Does it have an alternative name?
thx,
