QuestionReturning to Seattle mid-may from Tucson and don't know what, when or how much to prune my lantana, oleander, lavender, and bottlebrush. Will return to Tucson mid-sept.
I'd appreciate any guidance you can give me.
AnswerHi Janet,
Thanx for your question. You can really prune these shrubs any time you like but the best time is in the fall as their blooming slows down. Prune them back enough to make them neat. I wouldn't prune too severely. I would just trim them up enough to neaten them up. They're all pretty tough. I think mid-September to early October would be a great time to prune. I hope this helps.
