QuestionTom, I bought some Knee hi snapdragons (although they were super hard to find) Anyhow I look online to buy seeds and in a lot of stores and I can only find snapdragons (they regular small ones). Do you know were I can find seeds? and is there a certain type of soil that is best for them? I did not use any peat moss, should I have?
Thanks Liza
AnswerHi Liza,
Thanx for your question. I take it you bought the "knee-hi" snaps at a nursery, already grown out. From my experience, "knee-hi" refers to the height of this particular snap and not a varietal name. Knee-his will generally be 16-20 inches in height. Knee-hi varieties are 'Solstice' and 'First Ladies'. Plant the snaps in soil that has been amended with composted cow manure. Just dig up the plot and mix the compost in. Make sure the plants are watered at least once a week. Soil should be free-draining and not soggy. Full sun.
Actually, Swallowtail Garden Seeds appears to have a nice selection of various types of "knee-hi" snaps and dwarf snaps too. I have no experience with Swallowtail so this is not an endorsement, just and idea.

I hope this helps.
