QuestionI have a few perennials in my garden. When winter hit, they of course died, but I was wondering if I need to go through and trim them so that they start growing again this spring? I'm new to gardening so I have no clue. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
AnswerHi Sarah,
Thanx for your question. It's always wise to clean the garden up before the plants re-emerge in the spring. You can trim back the dead growth and put it in the compost pile or burn it. This helps prevent disease and pests. You can do it now or wait until right before your last frost. You can also do it in the late fall. I hope this helps.
