QuestionHi,
My boyfriend bought me Calla Lilies for Valentines Day. They came in a vase with two leaves and two Calla Lily steams. Also, none of the leaves are connected to the flowers, they just are in the water with the lilies. What do I do to keep the flowers alive? The two leaves are already starting to turn brown, and I don't want anything to happen to the flowers.
Please help.
AnswerHi Vanessa,
Thanx for your question. I fthe leaves are not connected to the flowers and there is no corm (bulb) attached to the leaves at the bottom of the stems, there is nothing you can do. The leaves will wither and die and have been put in the vase as decoration. If the calla lilies too are not attached to a corm (bulb) at the bottoms of the stems, the flowers will eventually wilt and die. Let me know please if there is a corm attached to the bottom of the vase. Are these planted in soil or water? Are the calla lilies white or are they a certain color? It sounds to me like these are flowers and leaves put in a vase of water. In that case, these will eventually wither and die as there is no root structure at the bottom of the stems. I'm sorry. I hope this helps.
Tom
