QuestionI HAVE A DESIGNER HERE AT WORK THAT CUTS ALL THE FOLIAGE OFF THE STEM OF A SNAPDRAGGON BEFORE SHE PUTS IT INTO THE ARRANGEMENT. I TOLD HER SHE NEEDS TO LEAVE THE FOLIAGE ON BECAUSE THE FLORETS FEED FROM THE FOILAGE. SHE SAYS THE FOLIAGE ARE SUCKERS AND SHOULD BE CUT OFF, WHO'S RIGHT IN THIS MATTER,THANKS, STEVE
AnswerHi Steve,
I am not a professional flower arranger but I do know that when using a flower in an arrangement the leaves that would make contact with the water should be removed. I also remove any leaves that interfere with the beauty of the arrangement. Leaving a few leaves on is fine.
