AnswerHi Arlene,
Thanx for your question. You raise a pretty tall order. First of all, dogs and cats, in my experience have never suffered from any of my outdoor or indoor plants. Most pets know what they should nibble on and what they should not. Horses are not always as prudent. I am not an expert on what is poisonous to horses. You'll have to contact your veterinarian on that one. Basically, for me, safe perennials are iris, peonies, roses, forsythia, spirea, poppies, hardy hibiscus, daylilies, purple coneflowers, belamcanda, perennial ornamental grasses, liatris, lavender, achillea/yarrow. Just a few ideas. Here is a link to the Master Gardeners of Ontario that I think you will find helpful.
